Our condo is spacious! It has a main floor with a nicely furnished LR with a fireplace, a kitchen with an island, a small dining area, a master bedroom and bath, and a laundry area and mud room. There is also a large loft which is furnished with two queen size beds and dressers, a sleeper couch, a reading area, an entertainment area, and a full bathroom with a deep soaking tub. Our condo is conveniently located on the main or 2nd floor of this walk out building. The main floor is adjacent to the covered loading/unloading area and parking lot. The main floor also houses the check in/service desk, ballroom, swimming pool, hot tub, and exercise room. Our condo also comes with a free boat slip, located on site by the old stone boat house. Our condo overlooks the boat slips and boat house, so if you want to bring your boat, you can keep an eye on it at all times. Additionally, this site offers large open areas and fronts onto Red Cedar Lake and backs onto the Tagalong 18 hole golf course. Red Cedar Lake is a great fishing and recreational lake and is one lake in a chain of lakes located in this wooded area. You will also have access to several hiking ( Ice Age Trail) and cross country skiing trails, plus ATV and snowmobiling trails, and the Cheers restaurant and bar located on site. And to top it off, the 18 hole Tagalong golf course is on site. Tagalong was built in 1925 and is modeled after the St. Andrews links in Scotland. The entire development here has a Scottish flare. Off site, there is the Loch Lommond Beach Club on Red Cedar, just down the road, and the Christy Mountain Ski Resort just 10 miles away. Not to mention, the lavishly developed Stout Island on Red Cedar which you can access daily via a ferry boat right from our boat house. The island is named after Mr. Stout, the lumber barron who originally began developing this area and built his home on the island in 1920's. The cabin is 2000 sq. feet with breath taking views of the lake allowing you to watch the fish jump and the soaring eagles above. The cabin has 4 bedrooms, a spacious loft, 2 bathrooms, family room, living room with a large wood-burning fireplace, vaulted ceilings, full kitchen including hickory cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and tiled floor. Outside the cabin is a deck low to the ground with patio furniture and a gas grill. We also have a 27 x14 foot overhang/wrap around deck. You can enjoy making smores over the fire pit, watch boats pass by, listen to music and lounge in the adirondack chairs. The cabin is located in the bay on the east shore of Red Cedar Lake with 1000 plus feet of natural wildlife refuge on the east side. Red cedar, an 1820 acre spring fed lake, is connected to Hemlock Lake and Balsam Lake adding 800 plus additional acres. Several unique smaller islands dot this lake. One larger island allows you to park your boat, swim and enjoy a nature walk. Pristine water is perfect for fishing, boating, tubing, skiing, kayaking, canoeing, jet skiing and of course swimming. This chain of lakes is considered premium water. Directly across the bay from the cabin sits the historical Tagalong Golf Resort. You can boat there or drive a 1/4 mile to enjoy a round of golf or dinning at the Restaurant. The historic Carriage House is part of the Stout Farm built in the early 1900s. It used to house some of the earliest automobiles ever built, with chauffeur's living quarters above the stalls. It has since been turned into a family home and is available for vacation rental. It is located on beautiful Red Cedar Lake just 5 miles south of Birchwood and 14 miles northeast of Rice Lake. This private home is just 50 feet from the waters edge with a wide covered walkway leading you from the front door, right down to the water with a large gazebo at the end for dining or just sitting and relaxing complete with table, chairs and gas grill. The dock is accessed directly from the gazebo, can hold two boats and has a swim ladder. The Boat landing is nearby. The gazebo has a railing and gate. The fridge has a built-in ice maker, and the kitchen is stocked with most items that you may need; plates, cups, toaster, pots, pans, knives, silverware, spices, and more!
